HEIDENHEIM — Voith, a global technology company, has been recognized as a finalist in the prestigious 2023 Manufacturing Leadership Awards for its exceptional contribution in the field of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. The project titled “Ensuring High Quality Through Analytics – An AI-Based Predictive Quality Solution for a Yarn Manufacturing Line” has earned Voith this esteemed position, according to a press release published on EuropaWire .
The project, aimed at revolutionizing the quality inspection process for monofilament yarn used in paper machine clothing fabric, was centered at Voith’s Summerville facility in South Carolina. By leveraging PDX, an end-to-end software platform powered by machine learning and AI technology from Predictronics, Voith successfully automated the quality inspection process. This innovation not only enhanced productivity but also provided real-time predictive quality insights, leading to better process control.
