BONN — Deutsche Telekom (ETR: DTE), a global leader in integrated telecommunications, has unveiled a strategic partnership between its subsidiary T-Systems and Envision Digital, a foremost AIoT software provider. The collaboration aims to deploy Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Internet of Things (IoT) technologies to mitigate CO2 emissions in Germany. T-Systems will integrate Envision Digital’s EnOSTM net zero platform into its Sovereign Cloud, facilitating energy reduction of up to 15 percent for corporate customers, leading to a significant decrease in carbon footprint.
Retailers, particularly in the food sector, are heavy energy consumers. According to the Carbon Trust, a 20 percent reduction in energy costs can amplify profitability by 5 percent in retail operations. Besides curbing energy consumption, the partnership will focus on managing renewable energy generation and usage within companies.
Initially targeting retailers in Germany, the partnership will empower businesses to leverage the EnOS™ net zero platform for energy monitoring, optimization, and CO2 emissions management. This platform equips users with transparent insights and control over emissions, facilitating gradual reduction through algorithmic interventions. Notably, the platform features integrated weather modeling and forecasting tools to optimize renewable energy utilization and enhance energy efficiency.
Helen Wohlfarth-Kuhn, VP Cloud Services Sales Germany at T-Systems, highlights the significance of Envision Digital’s technology in accelerating customers’ journey towards net zero, amid rising energy prices in Europe. The T-Systems Sovereign Cloud ensures a highly secure environment for the EnOS platform, enhancing data protection.
Michael Ding, Global Executive Director at Envision Digital, emphasizes T-Systems’ pivotal role in enabling energy and climate management solutions, essential for industries striving to achieve net zero targets. The collaboration is poised to expand beyond Germany, encompassing diverse industries and global clientele, following a successful pilot project.
Envision Digital, with its extensive portfolio spanning AIoT devices, electric vehicle charging systems, and renewable energy management solutions, manages over 200 million smart devices and 400 gigawatts of energy assets globally. T-Systems’ comprehensive cloud ecosystem, including the sovereign cloud tailored for Germany, offers scalability, innovation, and data sovereignty assurance.
