SAN JOSE — SiMa.ai, the leading provider of embedded edge machine learning system-on-chip (MLSoC) technology, has unveiled its highly anticipated Modalix 50 TOPs device and announced the launch of an Early Access Program for developers. Modalix is the first purpose-built platform to seamlessly integrate multi-modal applications, combining Transformers, LLMs, LMMs, and GenAI with traditional computer vision algorithms, all at the edge. This unique combination offers significant advantages in power efficiency and cost-effectiveness, making it a game-changer in edge AI technology.
The Modalix MLSoC™ is designed to outperform competing solutions by delivering more than 10 times the performance per watt compared to alternatives. This innovation allows businesses to leverage high-performance AI without the energy consumption typically associated with complex computations. SiMa.ai’s technology enables real-time human-machine interaction and supports simultaneous processing of multiple sensor inputs, making it ideal for applications requiring complex decision-making and natural interactions in dynamic environments.
The launch of Modalix builds on SiMa.ai’s successful first-generation MLSoC™, expanding its capabilities to include 100s of new physical AI and GenAI use cases. These applications span a broad range of industries, including humanoid robotics, next-generation infotainment systems in vehicles, smart factories, automated mobile robots, medical technology, aerospace, defense, agriculture, and industrial drones. The platform’s efficiency ensures that it can run these sophisticated applications on-device with a power consumption of less than 10 watts.
To facilitate the adoption of Modalix, SiMa.ai is offering the SiMa.ai ONE Platform, a comprehensive development framework designed to simplify the deployment of multi-modal and GenAI models at the edge. The ONE Platform includes the Palette software suite, enabling customers to build and deploy AI solutions with ease while offering a seamless upgrade path that minimizes the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) for businesses.
Krishna Rangasayee, Founder and CEO of SiMa.ai, commented on the overwhelming customer interest: “Since announcing Modalix last fall, demand has far exceeded our expectations. We are now excited to provide this groundbreaking technology directly to our customers, allowing them to experience first-hand how Modalix can transform their multi-modal and GenAI applications. I am extremely proud of the SiMa.ai team for delivering this second-generation product in record time.”
As part of the launch, SiMa.ai is opening the Modalix Early Access Program, allowing customers to request samples of the 50 TOPs device. Participants in the program will receive the MLSoC Modalix Developer Board, along with access to the Palette software suite and support to accelerate their development and deployment timelines.
Interested developers can request an invitation to participate in the Early Access Program through SiMa.ai’s website, where they can gain early access to the Modalix technology and bring their AI-driven use cases to market more quickly.
