MUNICH — The industrial sector’s urgent need for digital transformation towards sustainability and resilience is a central theme at this year’s Hannover Messe. Siemens is at the forefront of this movement, demonstrating how advanced technology and strategic partnerships can help industries balance value creation with environmental responsibility. The company’s presence at Booth D53 in Hall 9 highlights key innovations in the automotive, food, chemicals, and semiconductor industries, according to a press release published on EuropaWire.
Proven Technologies for Today’s Challenges
At the Siemens booth, visitors can explore how AI, digital twins, and software-defined automation are addressing critical industry challenges. “Together with our partners, we will be showcasing how innovations like AI, digital twins, and software-defined automation can help customers to address multiple challenges. From increasing competitiveness, reducing costs, overcoming labor shortages, or increasing sustainability, Siemens has the technologies that industries need right now,” said Roland Busch, President and CEO of Siemens AG.
Siemens Xcelerator Digital Business Platform
A focal point of Siemens’ exhibit is the Siemens Xcelerator digital business platform. This ecosystem, which nearly doubled its partners and sellers over the past year, includes AI-enabled machine vision and the Siemens Industrial Copilot developed with Microsoft and Schaeffler. A press conference will be held on April 22, 2024, from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. CEST to discuss the latest trends and developments, available via livestream.
AI-Powered Industrial Metaverse
Roland Busch and Rev Lebaredian, Vice President of Omniverse and Simulation Technology at NVIDIA, will discuss the potential of the AI-powered industrial metaverse. They will showcase how Siemens’ physics-based digital twins, powered by NVIDIA Omniverse and AI, enhance productivity across industries. This session, titled “Supercharging transformation: how AI-powered digital twins enable the industrial metaverse,” will take place at noon on April 22 and will include a Q&A session livestreamed on LinkedIn.
Chancellor Scholz to Visit Siemens Booth
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz will visit Siemens’ booth to witness the transformative capabilities of generative AI, particularly the Siemens Industrial Copilot. This tool, developed in collaboration with Schaeffler, significantly reduces the time and effort required for generating code for programmable logic controllers (PLCs) through natural language inputs. A memorandum of understanding to expand their joint work will be signed during the visit.
Decarbonizing Industrial Operations
Siemens is also introducing Electrification X, a scalable cloud service designed to optimize and automate electrification infrastructure, thereby enhancing efficiency and reducing CO2 emissions. “The digitalization of buildings, electrification infrastructure, and power grids is key for creating a smarter, more efficient, and decarbonized industrial sector,” said Matthias Rebellius, CEO of Smart Infrastructure at Siemens.
Innovative Solutions for Sustainability
Additionally, Siemens is unveiling new apps within the Building X platform, including the Sustainability Manager and Comfort AI apps, which enhance transparency and energy efficiency in building operations. Siemens EcoTech, a product portfolio aimed at minimizing environmental footprints, will also be showcased, setting new standards for industrial transparency.
