ULM — QuiX Quantum, a leading European innovator in photonic quantum computing hardware, has unveiled the Bia™ Quantum Cloud Computing Service, its first Quantum as a Service (QaaS) platform designed to make quantum and hybrid computing accessible to businesses and research institutions. This new service marks a significant milestone for the company, offering immediate access to quantum computing resources while laying the groundwork for a future hybrid quantum-classical computing platform, built on photonics, that will be available via the Cloud.

The Bia™ system is designed to tackle specific problems in fundamental research and quantum simulations, such as Boson Sampling, Quantum Monte Carlo simulations, and quantum random walks. Additionally, through the integration of classical computing with quantum hardware, Bia™ offers the potential for addressing optimization challenges across various industries, using advanced algorithms like the Variational Quantum Eigensolver (VQE).

Bia™ leverages a near-term photonic quantum computing system, incorporating state-of-the-art components such as a single-photon generation module (capable of generating 2 to 4 input single-photons simultaneously), a quantum processing unit (starting with 12 channels and upgradable to 20), a light detection module (with up to 20 detectors), and advanced quantum control software. Powered by the award-winning Alquor® Quantum Photonic Processor, Bia™ stands out for its ability to operate at room temperature, minimize losses, and offer full programmability, setting a new standard in the field.
