CAMBRIDGE — Arm is proud to be a key partner in the launch of NVIDIA Project DIGITS, a cutting-edge personal AI supercomputer that brings high-performance AI computing to developers’ desks. By combining the power of Arm-based CPU cores with NVIDIA’s leading AI technology, Project DIGITS is set to revolutionize AI development, providing a scalable, secure, and highly efficient platform for researchers, developers, and students worldwide.

The rapid growth of AI-based applications and their increasing use across a wide range of edge devices has created a need for robust, high-performance computing solutions. With AI innovation progressing at an unprecedented rate, it’s essential to provide access to this power beyond the cloud, directly at the edge, where new capabilities can be developed and deployed.

Project DIGITS, announced by NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang at CES 2025, is designed to make this vision a reality. Powered by the NVIDIA GB10 Grace Blackwell Superchip, the system integrates the NVIDIA Grace CPU with the NVIDIA Blackwell GPU, combining the latest-generation CUDA cores and fifth-generation Tensor Cores. With 128GB of unified memory and up to one petaflop of AI computing performance at FP4 precision, Project DIGITS offers developers the tools needed to prototype, fine-tune, and run inferencing with large AI models, working seamlessly alongside cloud or data center resources.

The partnership with Arm leverages the global compute platform that powers millions of devices across consumer technology markets. Arm’s powerful CPUs, including the advanced Cortex-X925 and Cortex-A725 cores featured in Project DIGITS, deliver optimal performance and efficiency, ensuring that AI models run faster and more efficiently at the edge. This Arm-based platform supports a diverse array of AI workloads, allowing developers to use the Grace CPU and Blackwell GPU in complementary roles for various tasks. The heterogeneous computing approach optimizes memory management and power consumption, enabling developers to get the most out of their AI applications.

For developers, having access to an integrated hardware and software platform is crucial. Project DIGITS uses the open-source Linux operating system, providing developers with access to a comprehensive suite of NVIDIA AI software. This includes tools, libraries, frameworks, and models available in the NVIDIA NGC catalog and Developer portal, which are essential for accelerating generative AI workflows.

Arm’s presence in data centers, alongside NVIDIA Grace Hopper and Grace Blackwell, ensures that this platform is consistent across both edge and data center environments, giving developers a unified experience regardless of where their applications are deployed. Arm’s commitment to supporting open-source communities and providing developers with the software they need to deploy AI at scale has led to a rapidly growing ecosystem, with over 20 million software developers building on Arm technology.

With its flexible, high-performance, and energy-efficient AI computing capabilities, Arm’s platform is ideal for the demanding tasks of running AI models with up to 200B parameters—something previously unachievable on personal desktop platforms.
