Successful applicants were notified by January 10, 2019, with the cohort commencing on February 1, 2019. The program concluded on May 2, 2019, with a Demo Day held on May 14, 2019.
Participants receive a stipend of $7.5k per month for the duration of the program, along with $25,000 worth of credits from Amazon Web Services. Additionally, successful completion of the program guarantees participants an interview with OpenAI for full-time employment opportunities. Mentors, including esteemed figures like Josh Achiam, Kai Arulkumaran, and Lilian Weng, provide personalized guidance and support throughout the program.
Eligibility and Selection Criteria
The program welcomes applicants of all experience levels and backgrounds who meet the specified criteria. While a PhD is not a prerequisite for participation, applicants are expected to demonstrate proficiency in software development, with prior machine learning experience being optional. Candidates must belong to underrepresented groups in science and engineering, possess US work authorization, and be located within US time zones for the duration of the program.
