Positioned as the most capable model in its compute class and second only to GPT-4 in overall performance, Inflection-2 represents a dramatic improvement in factual knowledge, reasoning, and stylistic control compared to its predecessor, Inflection-1.
Performance and Capabilities
Trained on 5,000 NVIDIA H100 GPUs using advanced precision techniques, Inflection-2 achieves remarkable results across industry-standard benchmarks, outperforming models such as Google’s PaLM 2-Large in most tasks. It demonstrates exceptional accuracy in benchmarks like MMLU, TriviaQA, and HellaSwag while also excelling in areas like math and coding, despite these not being primary focuses of its training.
Efficiency and Deployment
Inflection-2 was designed with efficiency in mind. Leveraging optimized inference implementation and a transition to H100 GPUs, the model achieves faster serving speeds and reduced costs compared to Inflection-1, even as it scales in size and capability. The model will soon power Pi, Inflection AI’s personal AI assistant, bringing its advanced capabilities to users worldwide.
Commitment to Safety and Collaboration
Inflection AI places a strong emphasis on safety, trustworthiness, and alignment. The company was the first to commit to the White House’s July 2023 voluntary AI safety guidelines and continues to actively contribute to global governance initiatives.
