MUNICH — In a bid to foster innovation in emerging technologies, Hyundai Motor Group (Hyundai) has announced a strategic partnership with Infineon Technologies AG (Infineon), a leading German semiconductor manufacturer. The collaboration aims to support startups in integrating semiconductors, vital components driving digital transformation across various industries. Infineon’s expertise in semiconductor solutions will empower startups to navigate the complexities of integrating cutting-edge technologies effectively, according to a press release published on EuropaWire.
The memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the two entities underscores Infineon’s commitment to providing startups with technical expertise at the product level. This support will increase the success rate of startups and facilitate closer collaboration within Infineon’s Co-Innovation Space in Singapore. The partnership focuses on fostering innovation in future mobility, smart cities, and smart factory applications, aligning with the global shift towards electrification and digitalization.
Dr. Helmut Gassel, Chief Marketing Officer and Member of the Management Board at Infineon, highlighted the significance of collaboration in driving innovation: “In an environment of rapid electrification and digitalization, creativity and innovation require collaboration across multiple knowledge domains. The partnership capitalizes on Infineon’s easy-to-integrate hardware solutions, including sensors, microcontrollers, actuators, and security features, combined with Hyundai’s diverse portfolio of startups focusing on groundbreaking technologies such as robotics, urban air mobility, and Artificial Intelligence. Initially, the collaboration will be spearheaded by Infineon Technologies Asia Pacific and Hyundai CRADLE offices in Seoul and Singapore. Subsequently, the partnership aims to expand globally, leveraging the established presence of Hyundai CRADLE and Infineon.
