PARIS – Atos and Siemens, leaders in digital transformation and engineering, respectively, announce the expansion of their strategic cooperation to accelerate joint business endeavors until 2020. This expansion entails an ambitious joint go-to-market plan and a reinforced joint innovation and investment program, increased by €100 million to reach €330 million – more than triple its initial sum. The collaboration, initiated in 2011, has already yielded a joint order intake of €2.5 billion, surpassing all expectations.

The joint innovation and investment program will focus on bolstering Siemens and Atos’ digital strategy, developing capabilities in Data Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, advanced IoT & connectivity services, cybersecurity, and digital service technologies. These efforts aim to support customers’ digital transformations through an end-to-end IoT suite, including the Siemens and Atos IoT MindSphere-Codex strategic cooperation.

Roland Busch, Chief Technology Officer of Siemens AG, expressed satisfaction with the alliance’s performance, emphasizing the companies’ commitment to combining strengths and leveraging the joint investment program for further expansion in areas like Cybersecurity and Artificial Intelligence. Thierry Breton, Chairman and CEO of Atos SE, highlighted the uniqueness of the strategic alliance and its role in supporting customers’ end-to-end digital transformation through digital collaboration.

The strategic partnership between Atos and Siemens, established in 2011, is regarded as unique in the industry. Through this collaboration, the companies combine industry and technology expertise to support customers’ digital transformation. The combined MindSphere-Codex IoT suite is expected to bring added benefits to customers, leveraging the strengths of both organizations.

The global strategic partnership formed in 2011 saw Siemens contributing its IT solutions and services business to Atos in exchange for around 12.5 million Atos shares. This move created a new European IT powerhouse, offering systems integration, application management, cloud computing, industry software, mobility solutions, and other IT services.
