ZUG — Siemens AG (ETR: SIE), Europe’s largest industrial manufacturing company, has partnered with BILT, the creators of 3D Intelligent Instructions, to optimize their mobile guides into spatial models for Apple Vision Pro. As the demand for skilled electricians and tradespeople increases, innovative training tools like BILT on Apple Vision Pro are essential for equipping both new and existing workers with the necessary skills. These tools provide a highly immersive and visual training experience, enhancing learning speed and safety.
Siemens’ initial product assembly and installation guides available on BILT for Apple Vision Pro include the Siemens Smart Infrastructure’s Class 14 NEMA motor starter and the P5 Power Distribution Panel. The Class 14 NEMA motor starter is designed to control and protect motors used in industrial processes, while the P5 Power Distribution Panel is used in various commercial construction applications to safely distribute power within buildings. Both products meet UL standards and are targeted at the North American market and other regions adhering to these standards.
Utilizing the ultra-high-resolution display system of Apple Vision Pro, BILT provides users with photorealistic digital twins that blend real and digital worlds. This guided learning experience allows users to interact with each product component using natural gestures, such as their eyes, hands, and voice, to manipulate parts and view animated step-by-step assembly instructions.
“This is a great example of how we are maximizing digitalization to enable the next generation of electricians,” said Andreas Matthé, CEO of Electrical Products at Siemens Smart Infrastructure. “The ability to interact with a digital representation of electrical equipment in the physical space transforms the educational experience, creating a safer, cost-effective, and innovative way of learning.”
BILT will join Siemens’ Xcelerator Ecosystem and Marketplace to further this partnership and expand applications globally. Siemens Xcelerator, an open digital business platform and ecosystem of partners, provides industrial clients worldwide with tailored solutions. BILT’s inclusion as a turnkey solution within Siemens Xcelerator aims to accelerate digital transformation and make learning faster and more scalable.
“Closing the skills gap and empowering the next generation of electricians is a key objective for Siemens,” said Siemens Chief Technology Officer Peter Koerte. “By partnering with innovative companies like BILT, we are revolutionizing the learning experience. We are excited to welcome BILT as the newest partner in our Siemens Xcelerator ecosystem, further expanding our transformative workforce offerings together.”
Looking ahead, Siemens plans to introduce additional products to BILT for Apple Vision Pro, supplementing its extensive library of mobile instructions. Future offerings will include Siemens’ smart home energy management portfolio, InHab™, and power distribution switchboards for electric vehicle charging applications.
“Siemens is an industry innovator,” said Nate Henderson, chairman & CEO of BILT. “They’re enabling apprentices and new electricians to upskill faster, install with confidence, and adhere to safety guidelines more easily. BILT for Apple Vision Pro provides tactical and intuitive training that meets the needs of a new generation of learners.”
Attendees at Hannover Messe, Germany’s largest industrial tradeshow, will have the opportunity to experience BILT on Apple Vision Pro from April 22nd – 23rd, 2024, at the Siemens booth in Hall 9. The demo will feature a guided installation of Siemens’ Class 14 NEMA motor starter and P5 Power Distribution Panel as part of Siemens’ Xcelerator showcase.
