SAN FRANCISCO — Bertelsmann, the global powerhouse in media, services, and education based in Germany, has announced a strategic collaboration with OpenAI to integrate cutting-edge AI technology across its international network. This will represent one of the largest implementations of ChatGPT Enterprise, providing employees across multiple continents with the tools to develop products and services using AI at scale.
Rolf Hellerman, Bertelsmann’s Chief Financial Officer and Chairman of the Tech and Data Advisory Board, shared his enthusiasm for the partnership, saying, “We understand the vast potential that AI holds for innovation, efficiency, and creativity in every corner of our organization. Bertelsmann will use OpenAI’s technology to enhance productivity in creative processes and optimize daily workflows, with a notable example being the broad implementation of ChatGPT Enterprise across the company.
In addition to this rollout, Bertelsmann has launched an AI Hub to drive its AI initiatives, aligning priorities across various teams and integrating AI-powered solutions into diverse areas of the business. Among the exciting projects:
- Journalists at RTL Deutschland will utilize OpenAI’s solutions to aid in investigative research and reporting.
- At Penguin Random House, AI will be deployed to create personalized book recommendations on social media, enhancing marketing efforts.
- On streaming platforms RTL+ and M6+, AI solutions are being used to refine search functionalities and personalize content recommendations for users.
- Bertelsmann’s media production teams, including Fremantle and RTL, are exploring AI-driven video generation projects in collaboration with OpenAI.
