SANTA CLARA — Intel is making a major contribution to the 2024 Neural Information Processing Systems (NeurIPS) conference, which will be held from December 10th to 15th at the Vancouver Convention Centre, Canada. The tech giant is actively involved in organizing and leading several workshops, demos, and networking events designed to advance research and collaboration in AI. These workshops focus on a wide range of critical AI applications, from materials discovery to responsible AI practices.
Intel’s Workshops at NeurIPS 2024
Intel researchers will play a pivotal role in leading various workshops that align with the conference’s mission of fostering collaboration and pushing the boundaries of AI. Notable sessions include:
- AI for Accelerated Materials Design (AI4Mat): This workshop will bring together AI researchers and material scientists to address challenges in AI-driven materials discovery. The event will encourage cross-disciplinary dialogue and foster a collaborative environment focused on advancing automated materials design.
- Breaking Silos Open Community for AI x Science: A social event designed to promote open collaboration in AI for scientific research. It will encourage attendees to share their success stories and explore opportunities for new collaborations in AI-driven scientific discovery.
- Responsibly Building the Next Generation of Multimodal Foundational Models (RBFM): This workshop will focus on the development of responsible multimodal AI systems, addressing challenges such as fairness and security in large-scale AI models. It aims to create guidelines for the ethical design of AI technologies.
- Women in Machine Learning Workshop (WiML): A vital event that offers women in the field of machine learning a platform to network, exchange ideas, and attend career-focused panel discussions. The workshop promotes the inclusion of underrepresented minorities in AI research.
Innovative Demonstrations and Networking Opportunities
Intel is also hosting a number of demonstrations to showcase its innovations in AI. One highlight is the Personal AI Assistant Demo at the Intel booth, where attendees can see how to deploy AI-powered voice assistants using the OpenVINO™ toolkit. These demonstrations highlight Intel’s advancements in AI, including AI-driven applications for voice recognition and natural language understanding.
The NeurIPS Developer Networking Meetup, organized by Intel and its partners, will offer attendees the chance to network and engage in discussions on AI development, with dinner and drinks provided to the first 250 guests.
